how can I tell you
of fire that leads through darkness
the oft enflamed soul
dead, but for the life He breathes,
in measured syllabic praise?
This verse follows the style of a tanka: the structure is that of a haiku followed by two additional lines of seven syllables each: 5-7-5-7-7.
