Stay Bright, Yellow

“Stay Bright, Yellow”

Stay bright, yellow
Roughshod blue the bliss of it
Corner it free to humility
Bother the pride loose
Trill the tree-lit melodies
Emblazon green
In ragged hearts
Gush on the joy
Glory forth the holy
Genuflect the new life
Grace unspeakable
Stay bright, yellow

WhimsyGizmo at dVerse asks us to use any variation on the word "bother" to write a quadrille (a 44-word poem). Click on Mr. Linky to join in!

This is absolutely stunning! I love; “Bother the pride loose/Trill the tree-lit/melodies/Emblazon green/In ragged hearts.” Such a lovely lilt to the words too 💝💝

    1. Lisa, Isn’t it amazing how it’s after you write a poem that you realize what you’re saying! I think you got there before I did. It’s an entreaty to the divine refreshment that we receive at times, that bright, ineffable “yellow,” to stay, to never depart.

    1. Thanks, Dwight. When I wrote it I hardly knew I was addressing specifically the Holy Spirit, an entreaty to Him to shine always as brightly in us as He shines in those moments when we feel His presence most strongly. The daffodil/yellow became a visual vehicle for that plea.

  2. Hey Dora my friend, I wanted to let you know that your link to the Muse this week did not go to your poem. My laptop has been acting up so you may want to re link it. I will delete the wrong one on Monday at work. Hope you have a great weekend. 🌹
